GHG accounting & reporting

Greenhouse Gas Accounting is the creation of an inventory of Green House Gases that a company releases yearly. The following Green house gases are in scope:

  • Carbon dioxide (CO2)
  • Methane (CH4)
  • Nitrous oxide/nitrous oxide (N20).
  • Fluorocarbons (HFCs)
  • Perfluorocarbons (PFCs).
  • Sulfur hexafluoride (SF6)
  • Nitrogen trifluoride (NF3)
  • The non-CO2 gases are expressed in CO2 equivalents
(CO2 footprint is actually incorrect and should be CO2-e.)

To do this in a structured way the GHG Protocol is being used and a yearly report is made to report on these Green House Gases.
