In recent years, more and more regulatory reports must be submitted to various authorities, including the Dutch government, but also to international bodies.
The format in which these reports must be delivered is often the XBRL format. This is an XML format with which data can be delivered in a standardised way.
The standardisation makes it possible to compare data from different companies. The Dutch annual accounts in particular make use of this format, but information is also shared with institutions on a European level in this way. The so-called ESEF reports. In the future, it is expected that sustainability reports will also be delivered in this format.
